2010 saw the launch of the first of its kind CDC Aviation launched a dedicated Cirrus Training Center offering students flight training on modern, safe, glass cockpit equipped aircraft at highly competitive prices. Traditionally, flying schools have predominantly used old, inexpensive aircraft for students to train on, equipped with old-style, conventional avionics and instrumentation.
However, in this modern day and age, students who want to pursue a career as a professional pilot need to start their training on new technology, especially glass cockpit aircraft as most commercial passenger aircraft have this technology as standard equipment.
Our flight training centre uses five Cirrus SR20's for training from abinitio stage right through to commercial licence and beyond. We also offer conversions and hire and fly on the Cirrus SR22.
Alex Smith is the Chief Flying instructor. Not only is he a highly respected instructor, but he has extensive knowledge about the industry and the law of aviation, making him a true asset to the Cirrus Family.
The school has modern, comfortable class rooms, and two state of the art simulators has recently been installed. The simulator offers four different aircraft, Full Glass Cockpit G1000 Perspective Cirrus, Piper Seneca 3, Piper Arrow and Piper Archer. These simulators can also be used for Instrument and Comm Renewals.
For more advanced and twin engine training, the school also owns a Baron BE55 which allows for multi -engine training, instrument renewals and flight tests.
Apart from the training discipline, the school offers students the use of a comfortable lounge area for students who want to relax in between training, as well as a big screen television and a pool table!
